How To Safely Operate A Vacuum Sintering Furnace

Dec 25, 2024|

How do we safely operate the vacuum sintering furnace?

1. The cooling water source for the intermediate frequency power supply, vacuum furnace body, and induction coil - the water reservoir must be filled with no impurities in the water. Vacuum furnace

2. Start the water pump to ensure that its medium frequency power supply, vacuum furnace induction coil, and furnace cooling system have normal water circulation, and adjust the water pressure to control it at the specified value.

3. Check the power supply system of the vacuum pump, the tightness of the belt pulley, and whether the vacuum pump oil is located at the centerline of the oil seal observation hole. After inspection, manually rotate the vacuum pump belt pulley. If there are no abnormalities, the vacuum pump can be started with the butterfly valve closed.

4. Check the condition inside the vacuum furnace, requiring first level hygiene inside the vacuum furnace, good insulation of the induction ring, elastic sealing vacuum tape, and qualified size.

5. Check if the lever handle of the vacuum furnace body is flexible to start.

6. Check if the rotating Maxwell vacuum gauge meets the requirements.

7. Check if the graphite crucible and furnace accessories are complete.

8. After the above preparations are ready, connect the power supply, close the intermediate frequency power supply, follow the intermediate frequency startup rules, try to start the frequency conversion, and stop the frequency conversion after success before starting the furnace.

9. The observation and temperature measurement holes on the cover of the vacuum furnace body need to be cleaned every time the furnace is opened for observation and temperature measurement.

10. When charging, corresponding charging methods should be adopted according to different sintered products. According to the relevant material loading rules, the plate should be loaded and cannot be changed arbitrarily.

11. In order to maintain a constant temperature and prevent thermal radiation, two layers of carbon fiber are added to the heating crucible, and then covered with an insulation screen.

12. Pad the vacuum sealing tape.

13. Operate the lever handle, rotate the top cover of the vacuum furnace to closely coincide with the furnace body, lower the top cover, and lock the fixing nut.

14. Slowly open the butterfly valve and extract air from the furnace body until the vacuum degree reaches the specified value.

15. After the vacuum degree reaches the specified requirements, start the frequency conversion, adjust the intermediate frequency power, and operate according to the sintering regulations of the relevant materials; Heating, insulation and cooling.

16. After sintering is completed, stop the frequency conversion, press the stop frequency conversion switch, the inverter stops working, and disconnect the intermediate frequency power switch and the main power switch.

17. After observing the blackening of the furnace through the observation hole on the furnace body, first close the butterfly valve of the vacuum pump and disconnect the current of the vacuum pump, then connect tap water to continue cooling the induction coil and furnace body, and finally stop the water pump.

18. There is a risk of electric shock when the intermediate frequency voltage is 750 volts. During the entire operation and inspection process, pay attention to operational safety and avoid touching the intermediate frequency electrical cabinet with your hands.

19. During the sintering process, observe the induction coil from the side observation hole of the furnace body at any time to see if there is any arc discharge phenomenon. If any abnormal phenomenon is found, immediately report it to relevant personnel for handling.

20. The start-up of the vacuum butterfly valve should be slow, otherwise oil may leak out due to excessive pumping, resulting in adverse consequences.

21. Correctly use a rotary MacLehose vacuum gauge, otherwise it may cause vacuum reading errors or cause mercury to overflow and cause public hazards due to excessive operation.

22. Pay attention to the safe operation of the vacuum pump belt pulley.
